Hanuman Chalisa is one of the most loved and powerful devotional hymns in Hindu tradition. It is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the great devotee of Lord Rama, who is worshipped as the symbol of strength, courage, wisdom, devotion, humility, and protection.
The word “Chalisa” means “forty.” Hanuman Chalisa contains 40 chaupais, along with opening and closing dohas. It is traditionally believed to have been composed by Goswami Tulsidas ji, the great saint and poet who also composed the Ramcharitmanas.
Devotees recite Hanuman Chalisa for peace of mind, protection from fear, removal of obstacles, courage during difficult times, and deep devotion toward Lord Rama and Hanuman ji. It is especially recited on Tuesday, Saturday, Hanuman Jayanti, Bada Mangal, and during times of difficulty.
